I mainly got this to lift it a bit off the table for ventilation and a little air, the blue led’s and the 3 fans couldn’t hurt either. Ive got a serious gaming laptop and it can get warm if I get into hard useage. Yes it is cheap and flimsy but perfect for me as I have a glass mini computer desk I use as a nightstand on one side so it even glows through, it picks your laptop up off the surface on short legs so it provides some spill protection as a bonus. I haven’t had any problem with fan failure and the plug, while shaky, is fine if you just leave it on the table and it has a pass thru I use for my backup hard drive. It would be a disaster if you tried to use it in your lap but on a desk, especially glass, it works fine- just don’t move it and you won’t be disappointed.

This thing looks pretty cool but has some major design flaws. It’s made of lightweight clear plastic, which actually seemed to hold up okay–probably because I have a small 12″ laptop that doesn’t weigh much. The main problem with this cooling pad is that the fans are open on the bottom. This design allows for a lot of air flow but leaves the fan blades exposed, meaning that this device can only be used on a hard flat surface such as a desk or a large hardcover book, which is how I was able to use it on my lap. I’ve had this cooling pad for about a month and a half, and it worked okay as long as I was using it on top of something hard and flat, but after a couple of weeks the outer covering that protects the wires leading to the usb plug started to come apart. It just now stopped working altogether because the wire became too frayed and stopped making contact.
All in all, you’re better off spending twice the money for something that will work for longer than a month. With a few small design improvements, this could have been an awesome product.

Ok product for the price, but the fans have no guards on the bottom so any/everything will stop the blades…mine worked for 5 months total and when I got down to one operational fan I sent it to a landfill somewhere!

when i got it was broken the screws were broken and lose in the package. didnt seem like shipping damage. the lights were cool but thats the only thing good about it.
